According to the company website, Saia line haul drivers get two days off per week and average 2,500 miles per week. Some line haul jobs are dedicated runs that allow the driver to be home every day. Saia line haul jobs go from terminal to terminal. There are some part-time opportunities available, but all the driving jobs require at least one year of prior driving experience. They also have openings for Class-B city drivers. Saia hires local, line haul, and team drivers. Saia’s fleet is approximately 11,000 pieces strong with roughly 2,700 tractors and 8,300 trailers. Saia specializes in one, two and three-day LTL shipments to 34 states with a network of 147 terminals and 8,200 employees. ![]() The carrier also covers Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico. Today, Saia is one of the top-ten LTL carriers in the US. In 2006, Saia reemerged as a single, publicly-traded brand. Yellow purchased Saia in 1993, and eventually spun it off as an independent organization with Jevic.
